Featured Woman of the Week: Elena!

Updated: Mar 10, 2023

Your Life. Your Path. Your Story

Hi, I'm Elena!

I’m the head of marketing for a billion-dollar supply chain company. I’m a single mother of two very vibrant teen girls and one very grumpy cat. Born in Moscow, Russia, I spent my formative years in Chicago, Illinois, and currently reside in Piedmont, California.

I’m a traveler. I visit places, I make my mark, I show people that change is healthy, even if scary, and I move on.

My very dear friend and former neighbor, Masha, brought me into the group. I came for the tapas and I stayed for the exhilarating bonding with nature and fellow humans.

I love the group, I would never get out to these places otherwise! Yes, you can get an app or read about those in some group, but no one would send you 15 messages about not forgetting your cup for a mid-hike Cava (bubbly wine from Catalonia) toast and THAT is golden.

Elena rocking her w.o.m.e.n gear!

My favorite part about the gourmet spread is the presentation! I’m a sucker for aesthetics and Raquel is obsessed with precision - the result tingles all of my spidey senses. It’s just a lot of joy, laughter, camaraderie, and AMAZING FOOD. You get to come out, be yourself, and play.

I’ve learned that it’s ok to be an introvert when the mood calls for it. And yes they make a difference! Every single conversation has been meaningful, and timely, and opened up some new direction for me.

Elena's tip to you:

Mileage is just a number and I can do it all. But also - get a good camelback! Hydration is the queen and it will take you far.

15 messages reminding us to bring the w.o.m.en collapsible cups is the right amount to ensure we all bring it and cheer for our times!

Elena fills in the blank:

I would never go on a hike without bringing my hat (s) I have both a warm hat for the wind and a baseball hat for the sun. Both properly w.o.m.e.n branded (I believe the warm beanie was my whiny request:)) Connecting with w.o.m.e.n outdoors means feeling part of a larger community. Feeling not alone. Feeling like I belong. Spending time outdoors with other women has allowed me to share and receive invaluable wisdom. That is magically delivered at just the right time.

From Raquel

Thank you for sharing your being with the group. I will message you 15 times :) and more with joy to bring fun to mundane times anytime! There is a sense of tranquility when you are present. Your introverted mood feels like those silent sounds in the fresh air but sparks our intentions with each breath. Your soul and your independence connect us. You belong. Thank you for all your support.
